Before the Coronavirus pandemic literally brought the world to a halt, weekends and many mid-week nights were the designated period for Football Twitter to reign supreme, with hot takes and semi-hostile banter flying around lawlessly, constantly creating the silly and earnest atmosphere of a food fight. No matter how invincible the team you support might seem, or the individual greatness of your favourite player—past or present—being on the receiving end of an #agenda is inevitable, but there’s always the friendly ideal that everyone’s a part of the football fandom community. In a similar vein, music always serves as a point of unity, even though preferences wildly differ. A Nigerian pastor has been caught on tape inciting the popular argument in the Nigerian music industry. The pastor was seen comparing Davido and Wizkid with his congregation. While he was on the podium preaching, he pointed out that Davido is more responsible than Wizkid. The pastor went further to ask his congregation who was more responsible, Davido or Wizkid? Last night was the 40th edition of the BRIT Awards, with live performances from some the world’s hottest music stars at the moment including Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Tyler the Creator, Stormzy and our very own African giant, Burna Boy.
